Chinese Herbal Immersion
This sliding-scale herbal intensive is designed specifically for communities impacted by structural oppression. Covering the 83 essential formulas in the California Acupuncture Licensure Exam, this course mends a tapestry of ancestral wisdom that colonialism severs and racial capitalism commodifies.
Why This Course?
We live in health inequity, and this course is a direct intervention to break down systemic barriers in healing education. By open-sourcing ancestral knowledge, we prevent gatekeeping and return this wisdom to the communities it belongs to.

Spreadsheets of 154 single herbs and 83 formulas including channels entered, tongue, pulse, herbal “personas,” plain language symptoms, and emojis

Classes conducted in English. Unfortunately there is no budget for ASL or translation to other languages at this time.

Instructor bio:
In addition to studying Chinese herbalism academically since 2019, the instructor is a professional educational consultant with experience writing curriculum for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Pendergast Elementary School District, and the Detroit Public Schools Community District. Camellia has worked in Project Based Learning since 2020 and added an explicit focus on Culturally Responsive Teaching in 2022. They specialize in asset-based pedagogy that emphasizes play, creativity, learner-centered practice, social-emotional learning, and restorative approaches.
